Umar M. Faruque

I’m a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, with a background in Computer Science from Hunter College (CUNY). My interests sit at the intersection of machine learning and software engineering — I enjoy building safe, efficient, and impactful systems that actually get used.

I work primarily in Python and C++, and I’ve built things ranging from data infrastructure and geospatial analysis to RAG evaluation pipelines. Before joining JPMorgan, I did research at Hunter College’s Distributed AI Research Lab, exploring reinforcement learning and deep learning for flood prediction and missing data imputation.
